B.K.S. Iyengar had been born in the year nineteen hundred and eighteen, and had began teaching yoga in the year nineteen hundred and thirty six, at the age of eighteen. This event had arisen just after he had been studying with the yoga guru Krishnamacharya over in Mysore, India, and it has been in an effort to improve one's health, all the while, suffering from tuberculosis.
